Educational planning

Educational planning is a process that is unique to SUNY Empire. It allows the student to create his/her/their own degree based on previous course credits, credit earned by evaluation and credits earned at ESC. It is typically done in a 4 credit course with the mentor.

The following are important tools

  • Degree planning guide is here
  • Prior learning assessment (exams or PLA essays you will write) is described here
  • Every Area of Study (or department) has guidelines that ALL students must follow. They can be found here.
  • All SUNY students must fulfill general education requirements. Information about them is located here.
